New Version of Kidspiration Launched at FETC

Inspiration Software Inc. introduced Kidspiration 2, the newest version of its visual learning software for K-5 students, last month at the 2004 Florida Educational Technology Conference. The company also launched a lesson plan book, "Kidspiration in the Classroom" and an interactive training CD-ROM, "Exploring Kidspiration," which provide step-by-step tutorials to guide educators in using the new version of Kidspiration effectively to improve achievement across the curriculum.

This latest version of Kidspiration offers more ways for students to improve their early literacy skills by expressing themselves visually and recognizing the connections between words and meanings. Kidspiration 2 now also includes a Symbol Maker drawing tool; two new SuperGrouper images that let students categorize ideas and create a Venn diagram; and Writing View, which gives users the option to see symbols displayed next to words and enables students to transfer work to a word processing program with a single click. In addition, the 75 ready-made activities and expanded management tools in the new version of this graphic-organizer software make it easier for teachers to develop standards-based lessons and streamline classroom management.
