Virginia School District Taps GVI For Video Security Project

GVI Security Solutions Inc., a provider of video security surveillance solutions, announced the receipt of an award for the first phase of a new school video security project from the Chesterfield County Public School District, located in Virginia--not far from Blacksburg and Virginia Tech.

"This award is for the first phase of a multi-phase project to provide a video surveillance solution to protect the students, faculty, staff and visitors at the 59 school Chesterfield County Public School District," said Michael D. Capulli, senior vice president of North American sales for GVI.  "With more than 58,000 students across 36 elementary schools, 12 middle schools, 10 high schools, a charter school, and a technical center, Chesterfield County is a progressive district serving a wide range of Virginia's students across a large facility base."

"Video security in educational facilities is evolving into a needs driven market rather than an event driven one as school administrators become much more aggressive at putting video security solutions in place before problems occur," said GVI CEO Steven Walin. "From our perspective as a pure play video security solutions provider, school security is clearly developing into a strong vertical market for GVI with growth rates that exceed not only the security market as a whole, but also exceed the overall CCTV video surveillance market which is growing faster than the overall security market."
