Green Survey: Are Schools Geared Up for Energy Reduction?

Information technology leaders in K-12 schools are more concerned about energy issues than their counterparts in every other sector--corporate, state/local, federal, and higher education. But they also feel least equipped to effect measures that would reduce energy consumption and energy costs, according to a new survey released Monday by CDW Government (CDW-G).

Panopto has released CourseCast 2.0, an update to the company's classroom capture system that's available free to academic users. CourseCast 2.0 had previously been available as part of Panopto's beta program for educators since June.

NEC Debuts Mobile DLP Projectors

NEC this week introduced two new single-chip DLP projectors that it will ship in the fall. The NP41 and NP61 are both mobile models, weighing in at 3.5 pounds, but offering brightness ratings of up to 3,000 ANSI lumens.

2008 TAF K-6 Math and Science Grant Deadline Approaching

The deadline for this year's Toshiba America Foundation's Science and Math Improvement Grant for K-6 is looming. Educators have until Oct. 1 to apply for the grants, which award up to $1,000 to fund science or math projects. The Toshiba America Foundation (TAF) is urging educators to apply, saying the program "is very easy to access for science and math teachers."
