Pearson Longman has announced the availability of its Teacher Development Interactive program, an online professional development resource for English Language teachers.

The new video-based platform comprises a series of interactive modules that combine video lectures, classroom demonstrations, PowerPoint presentations, online quizzes, discussions, and supplemental readings. Modules are made up of 15 to 18 hours of content and are led by professionals in the EL field. Focus areas for the initial modules include Fundamentals of ELT, Speaking, Reading, and Listening.

"As a global solutions provider, we are excited to introduce a flexible, affordable program for teachers," said Joanne Dresner, President, Pearson English Language Learning Solutions, in a prepared statement. "They watch real teaching techniques in action, and learn from experts who deliver both the theory and practice of language teaching."

According to the company, participants successfully completing four training modules receive a certificate of completion from the English Language Teaching Institute (ELTI) of Hunter College, City University of New York.

The training modules can be accessed by purchasing "access code cards" through individual schools, campus bookstores, or from a Pearson Longman Rep. As of this writing, pricing for the access cards was not available.
