New Release of QRadar Extends Reports and Rules

Q1 Labs has updated QRadar, its network security management application. QRadar version 6.2 ramps up on automated capabilities, expanded reports, and additional functionality to speed implementation.

The new release includes 1,300 out-of-the-box reports that directly correspond to 100 vendors and their products, including applications and databases, network infrastructure platforms, security devices, and identity and access management products.

The product also includes pre-defined rules, log, and flow search filters, and reports that map to the specific security challenges, such as compliance validation, fraud detection, threat detection, and application layer visibility. QRadar 6.2's preconfigured rules and alerts detect fraudulent or unusual behavior--such as host login failures from an expired user account, without having to specify the type of host, type of message, area of the network, or even having to turn the rule on.

QRadar 6.2 is $17,900. It's in use at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. The company was a technology spinout from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton.
