Wren Announces Security Assessment Tool for Schools

Wren Solutions has developed a new Web-based tool that helps administrators and school resource officers assess potential security and safety risks. Encapsulon Assessment for Schools, priced at $995, points out vulnerable areas that require further attention and evaluation.

Following the completion of a survey of questions about their school campus and the surrounding community, users receive tabulated results and a security report that evaluates security and potential safety risks and provides recommended mitigation strategies. Additionally, Encapsulon Assessment will enable schools to track their progress in addressing problems over time.

"Our research showed us that administrators often feel overwhelmed and unprepared to tackle complex security issues, so we've developed a solution to help them begin the process of understanding their risks," said Jeff Floreno, director of operations and security strategy at Wren. "Our methodology is based not only on our deep expertise in the education market, but also on the advice of experts spanning corporate, homeland and school security."

To develop the specialized assessment tool, Wren assembled the SAFE (Security and Facility Evaluation) Squad, a panel of experts with credentials and experience in areas including school administration, personal security, certified firearms training, fire and rescue, hazardous materials handling, counter-terrorism, emergency medical services, and narcotics.
