Casio Debuts Lampfree Ultra Short Throw Projector for Classrooms
Casio has released a new ultra short throw projector for classrooms and education facilities. The lampfree unit comes with 3,100 lumens of brightness and supports wireless delivery of images from computers as well as Android and iOS devices.
The XJ-UT310WN comes with 1,280 x 800 resolution (WXGA) and ultra short throw ratio of 0.28:1. The 12.5-pound projector uses a fixed lens mirror system "which allows up to a 23-inch throw distance for a 67-inch image," according to the company. The unit features Casio's Hybrid Laser & LED light source technology. Estimated light source life for the XJ-UT310WN is up to 20,000 hours.
Casio offers a free mobile app that enables users to capture, save, annotate and display content from their mobile devices. Users can also show images from their Internet browser, in real time. The app is available for Apple and Android devices.
AV inputs on the new projector include dual RGB (mini D-Sub 15 pin), HDMI, composite video, S-video, dual stereo minijacks. AV outputs include 3.5 mm stereo minijack, variable audio and analog RGB. Networking and control ports include USB, RS-232, and wired (RJ-45) and wireless LAN. The unit supports AMX, Crestron, Extron and SP Controls systems.
The XJ-UT310WN will be available this summer, through Casio's reseller network, at an MSRP of $1,999.99. The projector includes a three-year warranty, for parts and labor, as well as a five-year warranty or 10,000 hour warranty for the Hybrid Laser & LED light source.
