DreamBox Launches Adaptive Math Curriculum for Middle Schools

DreamBox Learning has launched a new middle school math curriculum for students in grades 6-8.

An extension of the company's curriculum for students in elementary and middle school, DreamBox Learning Math for Middle School is aligned to the Common Core State Standards and features more than 350 new lessons.

"Based on analysis of the student's demonstrated understanding and learning, DreamBox Learning adapts content, pace and sequence to provide a learning pathway and appropriate support," according to a news release.

The self-paced program features continuous embedded assessments and can be used as a supplement to existing curriculum. Topics covered include basic functions, geometry, ratios and single-variable equations.

"In middle school, we see students express a growing need for independence and the desire to take more control over their learning. With DreamBox Learning Math, our teachers can quickly establish an understanding of a student's ability and ensure there's a tailored instructional program in place that is appropriate for that particular student," said mSchool Founder Elliot Sanchez, in a prepared statement.. "This student-directed approach allows students to focus on their zone of proximal development."

DreamBox Learning Math for Middle School is currently available for deployment before the 2014-2015 school year. More information is available at dreambox.com.
