EPS Intros New Literacy and Math Intervention Tool

Next week, School Specialty’s EPS Literacy and Intervention division will release a new online tool for assessing students’ skill levels in reading and math, providing them with personalized intervention plans and assigned instruction.

The tool, called EPS E.P.I.C.–Exceptional Performance through Individualized Curriculum, screens students and provides instructors with relevant achievement data as well as an indication of their proficiency level based on national percentiles. It also suggests interventions, and helps monitor students’ progress as they complete tasks.

For example, identified non-readers might receive a suggested plan that includes decoding, phonics, and phonemic instruction, while struggling readers might receive a different range of literacy support.

The tool also includes a portfolio of PD services related to school planning, training, and classroom modeling.

Its formal release is set to coincide with the ISTE 2014 conference taking place in Atlanta June 28–July 1, where EPS will exhibit at booth 2440.
