BloomBoard PD Platform Adds Blended Schools Network Resources

Sibling Group Holdings has partnered with BloomBoard to make its Blended Schools Network (BSN) professional development resources available through the latter's library.

Designed to allow K-12 teachers and administrators to set their own pace in their professional development, SBN offers more than 500 hours of content that can be completed in 20-40 minute intervals. Courses are aligned with iNACOL recommendations and cover topics such as "building online programs, building online courses, blended teaching, online teaching and technology training," according to a news release.

BloomBoard allows teachers to set their own professional development goals, then recommends resources from third-party providers based on their profile. The company also offers a teacher observation platform that can be connected to the system to provide personalized recommendations for PD.

"Prior to this relationship, the company has not pursued additional markets for our professional development tools outside of the existing Blended Schools Network of school districts. We expect the partnership with BloomBoard will allow us to build new infrastructure and subsequent revenue streams," said Jed Friedrichsen, chief academic officer of Sibling Group Holdings and CEO of Blended Schools Network, in a prepared statement. "Our product line and this partnership should enable more teachers to successfully implement online learning in their classrooms."
