Chrome-Based Interactive Display Launching This Quarter

Display manufacturer InFocus has partnered with Chrome device manufacturer AOpen to launch an interactive Chrome whiteboard display designed specifically for use in education.

Dubbed the JTouch Chrome 70, the new tool combines the 70-inch JTouch display from InFocus with AOpen's Commercial Chromebox.

Features of the JTouch Chrome 70 include:

  • A 1,920 x 1,080 resolution;
  • Multi-touch capability and projective, capacitive touch;
  • HDMI, VGA, component and RS232 inputs;
  • Audio input and output; and
  • Two 10-watt speakers.

Features of the Chromebox include:

  • A solid-state drive;
  • Intel Quad Core N2930;
  • 4 GB of memory;
  • Bluetooth 4.0; and
  • Long range WiFi A/B/G/N/AC - 2.4 and 5ghz.

"Google Chrome is a huge part of the teaching and learning experience, with Chromebooks dominating the classroom, but until now there were no large size Chrome-based touchscreens," said Mark Housley, InFocus CEO, in a prepared statement. "By partnering with AOPEN and leveraging our years of experience working with teachers and students, InFocus is bringing K-12 schools the large, interactive Chrome solutions that educators have been asking for."

The JTouch Chrome 70 will be available late in the third quarter of this year. Education discounts will be available, according to information released by InFocus.
