Lauderdale County Deploys Xirrus WiFi Arrays For 1:1 Computing

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Tennessee's Lauderdale County Department of Education has signed a deal with Xirrus that will place Xirrus WiFi Arrays throughout the district.

The deployment is a part of the district's 1:1 initiative, supporting the connectivity requirements for a district-wide technology upgrade that includes laptops for students and staff.

"We are working on a district-wide technology upgrade that includes hundreds of Apple MacBook computers and WiFi network connectivity for students, faculty, and staff in order to further enrich the district's curriculum, online project collaboration, and extend reference materials to students where libraries are limited," said Shawn Kimble, at Lauderdale County Tennessee Department of Education, in a prepared statement. "Our goal is to place a Cart on Wheels (COW) in every classroom in every school--only Xirrus was found to have the bandwidth and reliable signal needed to make our goal a reality.

Currently, the arrays have been deployed in the middle and junior high schools, with five more schools expected to come online in the near future.
