InformationNow Adds Advanced Reporting Module
STI has added a new reporting module to its InformationNow Web-based student information system (SIS) called Infocus, which debuted at this week's FETC 2011 show in Orlando, FL.
According to the company, Infocus significantly expands the reporting capabilities of the SIS, from simply cross-referencing data sets, such as grades and attendance, to allowing more diverse search criteria and more robust filtering, as well as in-depth analysis of data, to produce reports that "transform [the user's] school's data into meaningful information that helps them better understand the interrelationships among data sets and reveal the challenges that they must address."
Infocus allows users to mine data to create reports--which include visual aids such as charts, graphs, and gauges--that give elaborate insight into such critical education issues as graduation rates, dropout rates, parental involvement in children's education, and overall trends, as well as school management issues including budgeting, supply management, cost-benefit comparisons, etc.
For data-driven decision making to be successful, said an STI spokesperson, "schools need accurate, relevant data and comprehensive management and reporting tools to derive the information they need. With its latest feature, InformationNow allows education leaders to make informed decisions that are in the best interests of their students."
Infocus is now available to all current subscribers to InformationNow at no additional cost, and access to the module will be included in all new subscriptions to the SIS.
