NComputing Validates Online Testing System

NComputing, a provider of end-to-end desktop virtualization products, has announced that it has completed formal validation of the online test delivery system, TestNav, and according to the company, it is the first virtual desktop provider to do so.

TestNav is an online test delivery system from Pearson that enables schools to administer tests securely online and on demand for kindergarten through grade 12 using interactive testing tools. According to a press release from NComputing, an increasing number of state governments are mandating online testing, which is why it's important to ensure that the technology employed at the schools operates with online testing solutions.

"As more and more scholastic testing is required to be done online, the need for a strategy around academic computing and comprehensive access becomes paramount," said Jay Mellman, VP of Global Marketing at NComputing, in a prepared statement.

NComputing conducted its validation tests using TestNav 7.5 and the NComputing vSpace desktop virtualization solution using the company's L300, M300, and X350/550 access devices and found that the solutions worked together successfully, opening the door for NComputing desktop virtualization customers to employ TestNav with confidence.

"NComputing's thin-client products have proven to be capable as we've moved away from pen and paper testing models to state-required, online testing," said Kavansa Gardner, Director of Information, Communication, and Technology Services for Richmond Public Schools, in a prepared statement. "The deployment of Pearson's TestNav onto our thin-client solutions was simple and seamless."

According to NComputing, "TestNav is the nation's leading, scalable online assessment solution," with contracts for student testing across the country, and it has already delivered more than seven million online tests this year.

Further information about NComputing's desktop virtualization products is available on NComputing's site, and further information about TestNav is available on the Pearson site.
