Flipped Learning Network Shifts to Community-Driven Hub

The Flipped Learning Network (FLN) announced an organizational shift to a community-driven hub dedicated to sharing best practices for flipped learning classroom environments. Accompanying the transition, FLN announced its upcoming annual conference, Flipped Learning Conference (FlipCon), will be the last of its kind.

FLN was established in 2012 to connect educators, provide best practices and share the benefits of a flipped learning classroom environment through hosting events and training.

As part of the shift to a community-driven hub, FLN launched an updated version of its website to promote professional development and facilitate collaboration within the community.

According to the revamped website, the goals of FLN are to:

• Serve as a hub connecting educators;
• Facilitate and collaborate on research relevant to flipped learning; and
• Provide access to professional learning opportunities.

“Flipped instruction is a grassroots movement with incredible momentum,” said Kelly Walsh, a community administrator for FLN, in a prepared statement. “With its new structure, the network will be able to better serve its community of practitioners.”

In addition, the organization said it is transitioning from providing annual events to continual opportunities. FLN will discuss the future of the organization at the last FlipCon on July 19-21 in Allen, TX.
