Free Kit Promotes Family Reading

Advantage Learning Systems offers a free how-to kit on organizing Family Reading Nights where adults can share their enthusiasm for books. These weekly gatherings can draw attention to a school's academic efforts and get parents more involved in their children's education.

Judi Paul, author of the Family Reading Night Kit, believes families play a vital role in motivating kids to read. The Kit contains funding tips, suggestions on staffing, checklists, and sample letters soliciting potential donors and participants.

Advantage Learning Systems publishes Accelerated Reader, a reading management package for K-12 classrooms. Version 4.0 includes new tracking and reporting functions as well as enhanced security features. Educators can use the Family Reading Night Kit whether or not they own the Accelerated Reader.
