Learning about Innovations in Education

The Learn & Live CD-ROM from the George Lucas Educational Foundation (GLEF) combines all of the content from the documentary Learn & Live, its companion resource book, updates on the film stories and articles, and the entire archive of GLEF’s newsletter, Edutopia. The Learn & Live documentary, hosted by Robin Williams, showcases innovative schools across the United States, and has been broadcast widely on public American television stations.

The resource book contains essays from leading educators, narratives from teachers, and annotations of hundreds of print and electronic resources. The CD-ROM was designed for use in presentations, in partnerships between schools and the broader community, and as an informative resource for users concerned with how new media technology can present video, text, graphics, and Web-based resources in an integrated digital package. Key features of the CD-ROM include the Learn & Live Digital Toolkit, which enables users to view digital video clips from the Learn & Live documentary. Also accessible from the Toolkit is a range of information relating to the documentary, including questions and answers about featured programs, as well as relevant Web sites.
