AlertNow Discounts Communications Service for Nebraska Schools

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

AlertNow has announced that it will be offering its service to all Nebraska Educational Service Unit (ESU) members at a 10 percent discount. The deal, said to be in recognition of an alliance formed July 30 between the company and Nebraska ESU Cooperative Purchasing, will apply to all purchases made prior to July 31, 2009.

The AlertNow platform provides schools and districts around the county the ability to deliver voice or text messages to a variety of devices, including telephones, cell phones, handhelds, and other Internet-enabled devices. The company currently serves schools in 49 states, delivering more than 5 million messages per month.

Some of the features of the AlertNow system include 411 caller ID, identifying emergency messages; text-to-speech translation capabilities in 11 languages; the ability to replay messages via a Web-based system; the ability to prioritize emergency messages at the network level; and polling and surveying capabilities, giving administrators the ability to make data-based decisions when implementing the system.

The messaging system is a hosted service. ESU-affiliated schools participating in the program will be given customized online training within 30 days of purchase, as well as onsite training once a year.
