TutorVista Unveils Live Access to Online Tutoring via Talk2aTutor

TutorVista has announced the release of TutorVista Connect Now, allowing students to connect live with their tutors through the company's Talk2aTutor service.

The addition of live verbal communication to Web-based tutoring is intended to provide a more robust, dynamic learning environment, allowing students to explore difficult concepts without the added barrier of chat-only interaction, according to the company. Before the addition of TutorVista Connect Now with Talk2aTutor, students had to schedule a time to speak with their tutor in person.

"The lack of real-time communication can be a real hindrance to learning," said John Stuppy, president of TutorVista, in a prepared statement. "We found when students can point to different parts of a figure, graph or phrase and verbally ask a complex question it's faster, more engaging and leads to quicker understanding and skill mastery."

According to the company, live tutors are available around-the-clock, 365 days per year, to give students immediate access to tutoring services. TutorVista has served some 500,000 students in its three-year history.
