Classroom Walkthrough Comes to Android

Teacher professional development provider Teachscape has brought Classroom Walkthrough to the Android platform.

Classroom Walkthrough is a data collection and analysis tool designed to help school leaders gather information about classroom teaching practices and make decisions based on collected data using built-in reporting and analytics features. The software includes both pre-defined and custom reporting capabilities, trend analysis, and progress mapping.

Classroom Walkthrough's support for mobile devices allows administrators to collect data and upload it to the Teachscape server for analysis via smart phone or tablet.

As Teachscape explained it: "After classroom data is entered into a handheld device, the results of the walkthrough are uploaded via a wireless or cellular connection to the Teachscape Web site. Users then log onto the Teachscape Web site to view the uploaded entries and generate powerful reports on the aggregated data to assist in identifying trends and patterns in teaching and learning. The CWT data collection application is typically implemented as part of the Classroom Walkthrough process, which uses the walkthrough data to engage instructional leaders and teachers in reflective learning communities focused on adjusting instruction to meet student needs."

Teachscape's Classroom Walkthrough is available now for a variety of desktop and mobile platforms in addition to Android, including Mac OS X, Windows (XP and 7), iOS, BlackBerry, webOS (Palm/HP), and WIndows Mobile. (It also provides browser-based access to data.) Further information can be found here.
