PBS Launches LearningMedia

PBS and WGBH have launched PBS LearningMedia, a free media service for teachers, students, and families.

LearningMedia features material from publicly funded organizations, including more than 1,500 public media producers and 350 local stations, the National Archives, the Library of Congress, NPR, NASA, the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the United States Department of Education.

The digital library is aligned to Common Core State Standards and includes more than 14,000 instructional resources such as videos, interactive activities, images, audio files, mobile apps, lesson plans and worksheets.

PBS LearningMedia also allows teachers to:

  • Easily find localized resources to differentiate instruction for a range of students;
  • Personalize the site by tagging resources and sharing ideas and recommendations and comments about how they've used media; and
  • Develop class pages for student viewing, feedback, and instruction on interactive white boards, intranets, and other networking tools.

PBS LearningMedia is free and available to all K through 12 and higher education classrooms.

More information is available at pbslearningmedia.org.
