New Partnership Aims To Leverage Student Data for Customized Learning

LearnSprout, provider of the first universal application programming interface (API) for K-12, has launched a strategic partnership with technology service provider inBloom. The partnership will give schools and districts free access to the company's LearnSprout Connect, providing direct integration with the inBloom framework.

According to the announcement, inBloom provides technology services designed to feed data from leading student information systems to a range of third-party applications. By adding the LearnSprout API into the mix, both organizations said they hope to increase the use of student data to drive learning decisions and increase the development of resources that deliver timely student information.

"We're seeing a huge push to open up education data," said Frank Chien, LearnSprout CEO, in a prepared statement. "With the inBloom partnership we will accelerate this trend by making it possible for schools around the world to plug into the inBloom service in a matter of minutes. We're essentially greasing the skids for a new, interconnected edtech ecosystem."

inBloom and LearnSprout will present at this year's SXSWedu conference March 6, in Austin, TX. According to the announcement, LearnSprout will demonstrate using their API to feed data from student information systems into the inBloom service. Additional inBloom partners will be on hand to demonstrate the various ways that data can then be used to power updates to their systems.
