Skyward Adding Course Learning Center to Student Management Suite

Skyward, a provider of K-12 school administrative software, is releasing a new module that will offer teachers a single online hub for classroom activity management and communication. Course Learning Center, which will be available at the start of the 2013-2014 school year, integrates with the company's Student Management Suite.

The Student Management Suite is a student information system that automates reports and e-mail; integrates gradebooks, standards, attendance, scheduling, discipline, and demographics; provides tools for communication between home, office, and the classroom; and automatically creates state reports.

Course Learning Center will provide an online portal for teachers to provide course content to students, such as videos, photo galleries, audio recordings, documents, and spreadsheets.

Other features of Course Learning Center include:

  • Student access to Web-based learning resources and study guides that can be downloaded to their devices;
  • Teacher feedback;
  • Digital locker, which allows students to submit files securely;
  • Parental access to the Center; and
  • A single login to the Skyward system.

In addition, Course Learning Center provides teacher tools for gradebook entry, time management, and an automatic plagiarism detector.

It also allows teachers to share instructional strategies, resources, and content through Professional Learning Communities.
