BoomWriter Adds Interactive Vocab Tool

BoomWriter Media has updated its collaborative writing platform, also dubbed BoomWriter, to include an interactive vocabulary tool.

WordWriter, as the new feature is called, is designed to increase engagement with vocabulary instruction and increase "students' overall vocabulary development through application in their own written work, that is then enhanced by the peer review and assessment aspect of the process," according to a news release.

Students can earn "Boomer Bucks" to purchase items for their avatar by using selected vocabulary from an instructor-created word list in their work.

"We're thrilled that the BoomWriter platform is flexible and allows us to integrate new features like WordWriter," said Chris Twyman, co-founder and CEO of BoomWriter, in a prepared statement. "WordWriter is sure to provide an engaging, effective, and personalized vocabulary experience for students, and BoomWriter as a whole is an increasingly dynamic tool for teachers."
