Apex Opens Awards for Blended, Virtual Programs

Apex Learning, a provider of blended and virtual learning tools, has opened nominations for its 2015 Apex Learning Award of Excellence.

"The awards recognize blended and virtual learning programs with effective strategies that have a meaningful impact on student outcomes and have the potential to be replicated or adapted by other schools," according to a company news release.   • Meaningful impact for students in blended or virtual programs;
  • The possibility of replication or adaptation in other learning environments; and
  • Proven results, such as improved student engagement, test scores or graduation rates.

Nominations will be accepted November 3 through February 13 and winners will be notified April 15. Requirements for submissions, available at surveygizmo.com, include:

  • A 300-word abstract describing the nominated program;
  • A 250-word description of Apex Learning's role in the program, including its use by teachers and how it has affected teaching, teaching effectiveness, student engagement and student motivation;
