App Enhancement Gives Teachers More Control in iPad Classrooms

The enhancement of a classroom workflow app is designed to give teachers more control over the learning process in classrooms where iPads are in wide use.

Netop has introduced an updated version of its Vision ME iPad workflow app that is designed to provide expanded control features and file sharing capabilities. A version is also available in German, with those in other languages besides English to follow.

Vision ME has a number of mobile device management capabilities, including the ability for teachers to selectively apply control features like "Attention" and "Web Lock" to individuals, groups or entire classes.

"The updated features in the app were designed in response to some of the biggest challenges that teachers in iPad classrooms face," said Netop CEO Kurt Bager. "Teachers still need the ability to control and monitor what their students are doing so that everyone stays on task."

It also has sharing and saving features that will make it easier to eventually move to completely paperless classrooms.

Among a number of features, with the Vision ME app, teachers can:

  • Use their iPads to present lessons to every student in a class as well as different groups or even individual students;
  • Allow students to make presentations to the rest of the class from their iPads;
  • Share files with students as well as those outside the classroom;
  • Use real-time chat to deliver messages to the entire class or individuals;
  • Lock devices during instruction or block Internet access when appropriate;
  • Post materials online and conduct instant quizzes and polls; and
  • Take advantage of assessment tools.

"The first thing that struck me about it is how intuitive, simple and user-friendly it is," said Rabbi Aaron Fleksher of the Hebrew Academy in Long Beach, CA. "Many teachers are not yet comfortable implementing technology into their classrooms. This certainly eases that transition and gives the educator the peace of mind that they can manage their class."

Pricing starts at $7.50 per use with volume discounts and 30-day trials available.
