Istation Launches Adaptive Math Curriculum

Istation, provider of digital reading instruction and assessment tools, is expanding to personalized math resources with the introduction of Istation Math.

"Built on the same research-based model as Istation Reading, Istation Math offers game-like computer-adaptive formative assessments for students in prekindergarten through 8th grade and adaptive online instruction for prekindergarten through 5th grade students," according to a news release.

Dubbed ISIP Math, Istation Math assessments are aligned to both the Common Core State Standards and individual state standards, provide monthly progress reports and allow teachers to screen a class in approximately a half hour with automatic adjustments for individual student ability.

ISIP Early Math, for students in grades preK-1, is a formative assessment and universal screener. It uses a grocery store interface to ease interaction for students new to technology and measure algebra and algebraic thinking, data analysis, geometry, mathematical reasoning, measurement, number sense, operations, personal financial literacy and probability and statistics.

ISIP Math, for students in grades2-8, covers algebra, geometry, mathematical reasoning, measurement, number and operations, personal financial literacy, probability and statistics, ratios and proportional relationships.

"The same amount of expertise and passion that went into developing reading lessons more than a decade ago went into Istation Math," said Istation Vice President of Curriculum Tracey Roden, in a prepared statement. "When we build a product, it's like we have our own virtual classroom of children. Even if we don't ever physically walk into that classroom, we are determined to take care of them and provide them with high quality, individualized instruction."
