Hobsons, Benchprep Partner on Game-Based Test Prep

Hobsons, a provider of college and career readiness, admissions and student success tools, has partnered with BenchPrep, a digital learning platform, to develop a game-based, personalized test preparation tool for use in middle and high schools.

The tool, called Naviance Test Prep, integrates with Hobsons' Naviance College and Career Readiness Platform. Naviance Test Prep offers an adaptive curriculum, interactive instructions, assessment engine, analytics and games designed to engage students. According to Hobsons and BenchPrep, the tool is designed to improve student proficiency in core learning objectives tested on standardized exams.

Students can use the system to identify their goals and then see how standardized tests can help them reach those goals. They can work through the system's game-based courses, accumulating points and badges as they prepare for standardized exams such as the SAT, ACT, AP and ACT WorkKeys. As they progress through the course, the system adjusts to help students focus on the content areas where they need to improve.

The companies plan to add support for other subject areas in the coming months, and according to information on the site, support for ACT Aspire middle school standardized tests are coming soon.

Naviance Test Prep uses BenchPrep's analytics platform, which school counselors and teachers can use to track and manage student performance and provide individualized guidance. District administrators can also use the system to monitor progress by school or classroom.

Further information about Naviance Test Prep can be found on Hobsons' Naviance site.
