Kajeet Launches Program to Make School-Home Broadband Access More Affordable
Kajeet has kicked off a new program aimed at making school and home broadband access more affordable for schools. The program, ConnectEdNow, provides free hardware, device subsidies and a discounted data plan.
According to Kajeet: “Every student needs access to online resources for their schoolwork, but adequate connectivity is still not a reality for everyone. According to the Pew Research Center, nearly one-in-five teenagers are unable to always finish their homework because of the Digital Divide. The ConnectEdNow campaign’s mission is to drive awareness of student connectivity needs, provide discounts and subsidies for affordable access, and offer guidance to schools and districts on how to successfully address this issue and implement an affordable and successful program.”
Included in the program are:
-
A free Kajeet hotspot, which is compatible with major LTE providers (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile);
-
A $200 subsidy for the student’s device; and
-
A data plan for $15.97 per month with choice of LTE network.
Additional details about the program can be found on Kajeet’s site. The company will also be exhibiting at the ISTE conference June 24–26 in Philadelphia in booth 2944.
