National Survey on COVID-19 Seeks Student Responses

A national nonprofit that asks students how to improve education is seeking input on how students are holding up during COVID-19 closures. The initiative by YouthTruth is inviting school districts to encourage students in grades 6-12 to share what they're experiencing while schools are closed. The survey students take is online, anonymous and available in English and Spanish. According to the organization, the questions take 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Respondents have until Friday, Jun. 19, 2020 to weigh in. Coverage asks how students are feeling about engagement and belonging, the academic challenge and obstacles to learning, the logistics of their schooling, how their relationships are doing and their health and well-being.

Results will be aggregated into a national report and released in summer 2020. Participants will also be invited to a webinar during the summer to discuss the findings.

School systems can choose to participate for free by encouraging their students to take the survey and receive responses from students in their community segmented from other student responses in the national report. Or they can pay $2,500 to receive a unique survey link to distribute to their student communities and receive a personalized client report as well as a 30-minute data briefing on the findings.

The district agreement to participate in the survey is available through the YouthTruth website.
