Fast Ethernet Cards Feature LEDs

Sonic's new line of Fast Ethernet cards, the EtherFE 10/100 NuBus and PCI adapters, feature NWay technology for easy installation and automatic configuration of network connection to the highest possible speed.

NWay allows the cards to operate at either 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps speed from a single RJ-45 jack. Diagnostic LEDs provide status on activity, link integrity and network speed. Adapters are compatible with all popular network protocols and are USA FCC and European CE certified.

Also announced was the FastHub/8, an eight port 100Base-TX Class II hub. Two such hubs can be cascaded together without a bridge for easy expansion. LEDs indicate collision, activity, link status and receive.

Finally, FastBridge, a pocket-sized Ethernet-to-Fast-Ethernet bridge, enables communication between Fast Ethernet and Ethernet networks. With FastBridge, users in a Fast Ethernet environment can access resources shared in a 10 Mbs Ethernet network, such as laser printers, file servers, databases and e-mail.
