New Dictionary Has 100,000 Pronunciations

Merriam-Webster releases its Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, Deluxe Audio Edition, which includes more than 100,000 audio pronunciations. This new release includes the full text of the 1996 copyright printing of Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, Tenth Edition, as well as the full text of Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Thesaurus. High-quality audio recordings allow users to hear the most common pronunciations and variants for words, as well as pronunciations for proper names, foreign words and phrases, and words and phrases based on main-entry words. The dictionary CD also includes over 1,000 detailed illustrations; 21 individual search options and advanced search tools, including wildcard characters and Boolean operators; and M-W Link, a unique software program that allows users to quickly look up words from other programs.
