In the Spotlight

Canon's VC-C1 MKII Communication Camera combines the firm's superior lens systems, sharp video resolution and fully automated camera control into a compact solution for distance learning, telemedicine and more. The 1/3" CCD camera can zoom (8x), focus (6-48 mm), pan (±50_) and tilt (±20_) with speed and precision. All features can be remotely controlled via an IR remote or from a computer (through an RS-232C interface). In addition, with People Tracker visual analysis software, the camera automatically focuses on a continuously moving subject. The VC-C1 weighs about 2.2 pounds and measures 4-15/16" (W) x 6-1/4" (D) x 4-1/16" (H), so it can be conveniently placed on top of a monitor or mounted from the ceiling.
