Grant: (1) One-year grants of $1,000 (2) $2,500 grants

Description: (1) As many as fifty grants will be awarded to public school teachers, higher education faculty and educational support personnel nationwide through NFIE's Leadership Grants Program. Applications postmarked by October 15 will be reviewed by February 29; applications postmarked by March 1 will be reviewed by June 30. (2) The Jordan Fundamentals program, funded by JORDAN brand of Nike, Inc., will make 400 awards of $2,500 each. The grants will recognize and support lesson plans and thematic units that demonstrate instructional creativity and exemplify high learning standards for economically disadvantaged students. Applications postmarked by November 1 will be reviewed by March 1; applications postmarked by May 15 will be reviewed by September 15.
