DISCOVERY EDUCATION has announced upgrades toPowerMediaPlus.com, the curriculum-oriented media-on-demand systemthat the company acquired when it purchased educational mediapublisher Clearvue & SVE in June 2006. Designed for K-12 schools,the service offers 50,000 multimedia components, including videos,audio files, podcasts, still images, and print resources, as well as curriculumintegration tools. One of the new features is a content evaluationsystem that allows users to rate videos so the service canprovide recommendations based on preferences. Also new are tagsthat enable users to search by keyword. Price: K-8, $795; high school,$1,095.
