In an attempt to make color printing more accessible around K-12campuses, Lexmark (www.lexmark.com) has created the ColorPrinting on a Cart solution, which puts its color or multifunctionprinters on a battery-powered printingcart that can be checked out by teachersand wheeled around to classrooms foron-site, on-demand printing. Pairedwith optional wireless printing connectivity,Lexmark’s cart solution is driverless,making it ideal for schools withlaptop-using students. Schools can alsomonitor everyday printing with integratedsoftware that tracks printingdown to the user level. Pricing varies,starting at around $2,500.
