OnCourse Launches Web-Based SIS

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Web developer OnCourse Systems for Education this week formally launched its OnCourse Student Information System (also known as the OnCourse SIS), a Web-based administrative suite for K-12 schools and districts aimed at helping with record keeping, reporting, and various and sundry operational processes.

The new hosted SIS, powered by Oracle, is designed to work alongside OnCourse's other existing online education tools, including OnCourse Lesson Planner, Grade Book, and Student Stats. It provides functionality covering student enrollment, CRM, grade books, grade tracking, attendance tracking, discipline management, and health management and provides custom reporting tools for these areas.

The OnCourse SIS was initially piloted in New Jersey and is now being made available statewide.

"Our district has used OnCourse products starting with Lesson Planner and later adding Grade Book," said Mike Grelli, technology director for Greenwich Township Schools in statement released this week. "We saw countless presentations and demos of Student Information Systems, but once our committee met with OnCourse, the decision was unanimous. Since the implementation, the OnCourse SIS has made life easier for everyone. All of our student data is available in one system and state reporting has become as simple as an export. With no administrative overhead for our IT department and anytime anywhere access for users, OnCourse is batting 1,000 for our district."

The OnCourse SIS will next be rolled out in Louisiana. Pricing for the hosted service is based on an annual subscription fee.
