Mitsubishi Intros 2 Entry-Level Microportable Projectors

Mitsubishi is expanding its microportable line of projectors with two new budget models: the EX200U and the EX240U.

Both DLP models measure 1" x 3.6" x 9.1" and offer similar base specifications, including native resolution of 1,024 x 768, 1.1:1 manual zoom, and a 4:3 aspect ratio. Both also ship with a 2 watt mono speaker and support HDTV-resolution input.

The EX200U offers a brightness of 2,300 lumens and a contrast ratio of 1,250:1. 

The EX240U ups the ante with a brightness 2,500 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 2,000:1.  This model comes 3D-ready and supports network connectivity via RJ-45.

The EX200U weighs 5.6 pounds, while the EX240U comes in at 5.7 pounds. Throw distance (5.5 feet to 31.3 feet) and image size range (40 inches to 250 inches) are the same for each.

The EX200U is currently offered at the street price of $699 and comes with a three-year warranty. According to Mitsubishi, the EX240U will be released this month--pricing has yet to be announced.
