Brief: Video Contest Looks To Inspire Future Teachers

The Network for Excellence in Teaching (NExT) has teamed up with the Bush Foundation to launch a video contest that calls on teachers to motivate and inspire the next generation of educators.

The contest, called "Tell Us Why Teaching Matters," asks participants to submit a 30- to 60-second video spotlighting a teacher who has made a difference in his or her life and to explain why teaching is important. Three prizes will be awarded: $1,000, $500, and $250 for the top-3 videos.

The contest is part of a larger $40 million effort currently underway by the Bush Foundation to promote teacher recruitment and support.
