WizIQ To Host Free English Language MOOC for Teachers
An online education platform company will host a free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), dubbed English Language Teaching Techniques, focused on English language teaching and beginning July 29.
The course, which runs until August 23, is offered by Royalston, MA-based WizIQ.
The MOOC is taught by Jason R. Levine, also known as "Fluency MC," a teacher, teacher trainer, and writer. According to WizIQ, Levine has a total of 15 years of experience in these three capacities. He also is the founder of ColloLearn, a company he created to teach English through music. In addition, Levine teaches in the online MA Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages program at The New School in New York, NY.
Through the WizIQ Virtual Classroom, teachers will be able to interact with peers and facilitators during classes, which will be presented live. In addition to Levine the classes will be taught by Michael Marzio, Vicki Hollett, and Charles Goodger.
The course will include a live session each week with Levine, as well as sessions with Marzio, Hollett, and Goodger. Students will be expected to complete an assignment and participate in online discussion before each live class. After each class, attendees will take an ungraded quiz, participate in more online discussion, and work with another student on an assignment.
According to WizIQ, participants of this MOOC who plan on using the platform in the future can receive a promotional code for half-off, and attendees who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion.
