Wildlife Acoustics Introduces Bat Detector

Wildlife Acoustics, a provider of bioacoustics recording and analysis technology, has introduced its new Echo Meter Touch bat detector/recorder/analyzer. The Echo Meter Touch is a key-fob-sized, ultrasonic module that plugs into an iPhone or iPad. The module works with a free Echo Meter Touch app that includes a spectrogram viewer, allowing teachers and students to listen to and record bats in real time.

The app identifies a bat’s species by capturing ultrasonic sounds in seconds. A GPS tracking feature automatically tags all recordings with location information.
 
To complement the Echo Meter Touch, teachers and students have access to Bat Conservation International's bat biology studies curriculum guide, which includes in-class activities, fieldwork and at-home projects.
