Buena Regional High School Deploys Student Engagement Platform
Buena Regional High School in New Jersey has implemented a student engagement platform designed to
teach students about issues related to social and emotional well-being.
The school district has adopted the Suite360 engagement platform from Evolution Labs and is preparing to roll out a suite of courses on topics such as
bullying, substance abuse and general health and wellness. Students
will access the program by downloading a mobile app or accessing a
mobile-optimized website. The district will require students to
complete two courses through the platform during each marking period,
and the district will offer courses as electives throughout the year.
Topics covered through the platform include:
- Recognizing violent relationships;
- Bystander intervention;
- Stress management;
- Substance abuse;
- Healthy eating;
- Academic honesty;
- College preparation; and
- Additional topics introduced throughout the school year.
In
January 2016, the New Jersey Association of School Administrators (NJASA) partnered with Evolution Labs to make the company's Suite360
engagement platform available to its member districts, and the NJASA is
providing those districts with guidance implementing the platform and
tailoring it to individual districts' needs.
The Suite360
platform includes short readings, engaging videos, interactive
self-tests and social media content, according to a news release.
Students complete a pre- and post-assessment for each topic to help
determine how well they've learned the material.
