Age of Discovery, a CD-ROM from Society for Visual Education (SVE), provides a solid foundation on which to study Columbus and other explorers such as Magellan, John Cabot and Cortes. Spectacular visuals including Egyptian tomb paintings, Persian miniatures, richly illustrated manuscripts, rare maps and works by artists such as Botticelli are featured. In addition, the disc includes a dictionary and 24- volume encyclopedia. The CD attempts to capture the spirit of the Age of Discovery, while introducing accurate history in a multimedia format.
