AP Courses Available Online

This coming school year, APEX offers five Advanced Placement Courses online. A maximum of twenty-five students and one teacher will constitute a virtual classroom in these distance learning programs: Calculus AB, Macr'economics (Spring only), Micr'economics, Statistics, and US Government and Politics. Designed by qualified AP teachers and subject experts, these courses can run from one semester to a full year. Each course satisfies The College Board standards and offers 150 curriculum-hours of tutorials, online discussions, readings, assignments and teacher and peer support.

Students can proceed at their own pace and check themselves as they go. Teachers test their online pupils periodically to communicate and to assess their progress. School, students and their parents will receive weekly progress reports, while a final report will be sent to the school that issues the final grade and credit. Course fees begin at $395. Some school districts are considering sharing the cost with parents. APEX, Bellevue, WA, (800) 453-1454, www.apex.netu.com.
