Kids' voices have been amplified with Kids Rule the World: An Interactive Internet Writing Kit. The book and companion Web site, www.kidnews.com, help kids define, organize and research their thoughts and opinions. Then, using sample stories from other kids at kidnews.com, they can write and publish their articles for the world to read.

The book was created to guide young writers through the steps journalists and other writers take to find things out and share them with readers. The kit includes a 96-page book and a credit card-sized CD-ROM that doubles as a press pass. The disk contains the forms that are printed in the books and is designed so that kids can print out as many copies as they need for their stories. Librarians can copythese forms to their hard drives so patrons can print them and have th eir own copies. The kidnews.com Web site showcases student work and gives kids the opportunity to be published online, with kids and parents from all over the country reading their reviews, opinions, news articles and more.
