Maple 7

The newest version of Maple 7 from Waterloo Maple features a range of new mathematic algorithms in several areas such as differential equations, numerical computation and enhanced Web connectivity, including MathML 2.0 support, XML support and TCP/IP sockets-based access to online information. Maple 7's core features are also supported by a growing suite of free add-on packages and applications available online at www.mapleapps.com.

Maple 7 solves most of the standard benchmark test suites for differential equations and includes solvers for boundary-value problems, initial-value problems, systems of partial differential equations, as well as speed and stability improvements for numerical solutions of differential equations. Maple 7 sets the standard for managing units and dimensions. Engineering and science problems can be modeled and solved with appropriate dimensions using any modern unit system. The program also offers full support for the new MathML 2.0 standard that manages both the display and the meaning of mathematics on the Web. A suite of add-on packages and applications are also planned. Waterloo Maple Inc., Ontario, Canada, (800) 267-6583, www.maplesoft.com.
