CROSSROADS SYSTEMS has released SurePath ShareLoader, a new appliancedesigned to automate backups of both on-site and remote systems. Inthis age of regulatory compliance, the device's data storage andretrieval features are important for schools, allowing users toretrieve lost data themselves, saving IT departments time. ShareLoader is a rack-mount unit that integrates into backup environmentsand combines disk and tape media for archiving and disasterrecovery of data. The appliance is managed centrally via a web-basedinterface that provides event logging, notification, and reporting. It canalso automate tape migration based on defined storage thresholds and tape-rotationpolicies. Price: Begins at $28,750.
