DyKnow Expands Collaborative Tools
DyKnow has released an update to its DyKnow Software Suite. The new 5.3 release, which debuted this month, adds new Web 2.0 capabilities and new tools for classroom interaction.
The DyKnow Software Suite includes DyKnow Vision and DyKnow Monitor. DyKnow Vision is a tool used for collaboration and access to classroom content, including collaborative note taking and student response. DyKnow Monitor is a utility that allows instructors to see what's on students' screens in classroom environments, providing a thumbnail view of what students have on their screens at any given time and allowing instructors to block applications, monitor wireless access, and blank out screens.
The latest 5.3 release includes updates to both applications. In DyKnow Vision, these updates include the ability to embed videos from YouTube, TeacherTube, and SchoolTube on a DyKnow panel; the ability to use Private Notes while reviewing recorded materials; support for additional languages in chat; a new function that allows teachers to force synchronize student monitors; automatic saving for lesson recovery; and a new menu for accessing recent files.
DyKnow Monitor includes a new screen broadcaster designed to allow teachers to send their screens. It also adds a new chat feature, with management controls for the teacher; polling; and a file transfer feature that allows teachers to request and receive files from students.
DyKnow Software Suite 5.3 is available now. A complete list of new features in version 5.3 can be found here. Further information can be found here.
