Denver Public Schools Adopts Performance Management Software

Denver Public Schools in Colorado will be adopting new applications from Lawson to further automate human resources management work. The district, second largest in the state, has about 13,000 teachers and other staff in 160 schools.

The district's strategic plan places an emphasis on retaining, rewarding, and recruiting the most qualified teachers and administrators to help improve student learning outcomes. It's adopted the new Lawson system as part of an effort to improve efficiency as administrators work toward tracking, measuring, and rewarding teacher effectiveness.

The district will be adding several HR modules from Lawson:

  • Global Human Resources, to automate day to day HR tasks;
  • Talent Acquisition, to manage the recruitment, on-boarding, and retention levels of teaching staff;
  • Compensation Management, to link compensation to individual benchmarks, organizational objectives, and performance; and
  • Performance Management, to track state and district assessment and school wide performance measures, set benchmarks or make comparisons with other teaching staff, and show progress over time.

The district has been using Lawson software to manage HR, benefits, and payroll activities since 1999.
