CrossTec Classroom Management Platform Adds iOS, Android Support

Teachers can now manage and monitor student computers from their iOS and Android mobile devices or machines running Google Chrome OS and Windows 8, thanks to a new release of CrossTec's classroom management software SchoolVue Version 11.

SchoolVue 11 features new tools including a "game show" style question and answer module. The new module enables teachers to choose students depending on "their Speed to Answer, Team, Randomly, or allocate their scores based on correct responses," according to a statement released this week by the company.

The updated software also includes improved support for computer-based standardized testing. With the software's Quick Launch Desktop Controls, teachers can open a Web site or application on each student's computer, at the same time.

Other features enhanced in Version 11 include: connection methods, user interface, group learning, replay files, student toolbar, Active Directory integration, Student Journal, and Tech Console. The software file distribution feature now uses UDP for one-to-many transfers.

CrossTec will discuss the new features in Version 11 in a free webcast on August 28. Additional information and a free 30-day evaluation are available at the company's Web site.
